Most GPs in Scotland appraised in 2008
The figure falls to 44% for sessional GPs, according to NHS Quality Improvement Scotland.
The watchdog’s report makes a series of recommendations to boost the number of GPs appraised annually.
These include the setting up of a national group to share areas of good practice and the setting up of one accurate database of GPs eligible to work in Scotland.
