Darzi is ‘friend of nurses’ says the RCN

Speaking at the Nurse Practitioner Association conference in Liverpool on Friday, he said: ‘It depresses me when I go around and meet many nurses who don’t think Darzi is a friend of nursing.

‘He is very pro-nursing and in the early 1990s he trained the first ever nurse endoscopist despite great hostility from his colleagues. People saw this as treachery but Darzi was not put off.

Does P4P improve quality?

Pay-for-performance (P4P) is the latest rage among health wonks as to how to improve the health care system.  But does P4P really improve quality?
